Frontline Emergency Response — Protecting Water, Sanitation, and Lives.

20 million

An estimated 20 million people across Africa are affected each year by floods, droughts, and other natural disasters.

_UNDRR, 2020

Floods and droughts driven by the climate crisis, the spread of infectious diseases such as pandemics, earthquakes, and ongoing conflicts are threatening the lives of hundreds of millions of people worldwide. In Africa alone, approximately 20 million people are affected each year by natural disasters. Experts also warn that factors, including climate change, are likely to accelerate the emergence and spread of infectious diseases — including water-borne diseases like malaria and cholera, and the risk of future pandemics.

The collapse of water and sanitation infrastructure during disasters intensifies the spread of disease and deepens survival crises. Vulnerable populations — particularly pregnant women, infants, and those with chronic illnesses — often suffer without even the most basic human rights being protected.

Team&Team responds swiftly in disaster settings with emergency water and sanitation support, minimizing harm and helping communities restore safe and stable daily life as quickly as possible.

How does Team&Team work?

We Act in the Critical First Hours.

We save lives by providing immediate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) support in the critical moments following a disaster.

We Uphold Dignity Even in Crisis.

By establishing safe and clean sanitation environments in temporary shelters and isolation facilities, we help women and children maintain dignity even in the most challenging circumstances.

We Strengthen Community Resilience.

Beyond distributing emergency supplies, we empower local communities by organizing Water User Committees (WUCs) and providing technical training on facility maintenance — ensuring communities are equipped with sustainable systems for disaster response.

We Build on Every Response to Strengthen the Next.

Drawing on lessons learned from past crises, we refine and institutionalize our response manuals, building more effective action systems when the next disaster strikes.

We Prevent Disaster from Escalating into Catastrophe.

When emergencies occur, Team&Team swiftly assesses the scale of impact to protect lives and ensure the safety of affected communities. We provide safe water, essential food, and daily necessities, and establish protective shelters — laying the groundwork for communities to recover quickly and regain stability in the aftermath of disaster.

Safe Water Support and Infrastructure Development

For rapid response, we deploy water trucking services and install temporary water tanks in disaster-affected villages, health centers, and schools. At the same time, to ensure sustained access to safe water, we construct durable water supply infrastructure, including solar-powered water systems.

Distribution of Hygiene Kits and Emergency Supplies

We distribute hygiene kits containing soap, detergent, and hand sanitizer, and provide mosquito nets to help prevent malaria. In addition, emergency food supplies are delivered so that families can protect their health and sustain their daily lives even in times of crisis.

Installation of Temporary Sanitation Facilities

To prevent the spread of waterborne diseases caused by open defecation and to ensure a safe living environment, we install temporary latrines in affected areas. This infrastructure is designed to allow easy dismantling when no longer needed.

Training in Facility Operation and Maintenance

To ensure that facilities remain operational in the event of future disasters, we organize Water User Committees (WUCs) and provide training so that residents can independently manage and maintain water and sanitation infrastructure over the long term.
